Revit 2020.2.9 Hotfix May 2026
Release story — Revit 2020.2.9 Hotfix
Today we’re shipping Revit 2020.2.9, a targeted hotfix that resolves three regressions introduced in the prior patch and improves stability for common multi-discipline workflows. This update is focused, low risk, and backwards-compatible: it installs quickly, requires no migration of existing models, and addresses issues users reported after 2020.2.8.
- Close all Autodesk applications (including Navisworks and AutoCAD).
- Download the executable from Autodesk Desktop Access or the Subscription Center (search
Revit 2020.2.9 hotfix). - Right-click the
.exeand select "Run as Administrator." - Wait for the extraction process (the window may appear frozen for 2 minutes—this is normal).
- After completion, reboot your machine. (Crucial: The DLL updates require a full reboot; a simple restart of Revit is insufficient.)
4. Performance & Stability
- No measurable performance gain – this is a hotfix, not an optimization.
- Stability: Improves stability only if you were hitting the specific crash/error condition. Otherwise, neutral.
- Memory/File handling: Unchanged from 2020.2.6.
Security Reinforcement: It patches vulnerabilities specifically related to importing SketchUp files and .adsk components, ensuring that external assets don't compromise your local environment. revit 2020.2.9 hotfix
