What Makes LosslessCut Special?

Unlike traditional video editors, LosslessCut doesn’t re-encode your media. It works by copying data directly from the source, which means:

  1. Go to github.com / mifi / losslesscut (Combine the string).
  2. Click on "Releases" on the right sidebar.
  3. Look for the latest stable release (avoid "nightly" builds unless you are testing).
  4. Under "Assets," look for the file name that fits your OS:

Step 3: Export losslessly

  • Press the big Scissors icon (or Ctrl+E).
  • A popup asks: "Export cut segment?" Click Yes.
  • In 2 seconds, the file appears in the same folder as your original, named [original_filename]_cut.mp4.
