This error occurs when the printer's internal waste ink pad counter reaches its maximum limit, effectively locking the device to prevent ink from leaking. Core Functions

Check the boxes for Main pad counter, Platen pad counter, and Ink system pad counter.

The Adjustment Program resets this counter to zero, allowing continued use. Important: Physical pad replacement is recommended; resetting without replacement can lead to ink leakage.

• The orange error light (or red light) is flashing a specific pattern (e.g., 5 times, pause, 5 times).
• The printer screen (if applicable) or Epson Status Monitor shows: “A printer’s ink pads are at the end of their service life. Please contact Epson Support.”
• The printer refuses to print, scan, or move – It is completely bricked.
• Error code displayed via Epson Status Monitor: Look for 0xF1 (Waste ink pad error) or 0xFD.
• You have tried turning it off and on – The error persists because the counter is stored in EEPROM memory.
